How do I know if my roof needs to be replaced or just repaired?
Great question — and one we get a lot. If your roof is leaking, missing shingles, sagging, or within a couple of years of the manufacturer's recommended lifespan, it might be time for a replacement. But we’re not in the business of pushing new roofs you don’t need. If a repair can safely extend your roof’s life, we’re happy to do that instead. Our team will inspect your roof and give you transparent, straightforward advice — no pressure.

How much does a new roof cost?It really depends on a few factors — the size of your roof, the materials you choose, and whether there’s any underlying damage. Every project is different. We provide detailed, no-surprise estimates and offer financing options to make things easier on your budget.

How long does a roof replacement take?Most of our residential roof replacements are finished in 1 to 2 days. Larger homes or complex materials like slate or metal might take a bit longer. Either way, we’ll keep you informed throughout the process, and our crews clean up like they were never there.

What type of roofing materials do you recommend for Richmond's climate?We work with a wide range of roofing materials and help you choose the best fit for your home and budget. For most Richmond homes, architectural asphalt shingles are a solid, cost-effective option for steep slope roofs. We also install standing seam metal, slate, and Spanish Tile on steep slope roofs. For low slope applications, we recommend a TPO membrane. Each product type has its own strengths in durability and appearance.

Will my homeowner's insurance cover a roof replacement?It might — especially if the damage was caused by wind, hail, or another covered event. We’re happy to take a look and help you figure it out. If you need to file a claim, we can guide you through the process and work with your adjuster to ensure a smooth experience. However, don’t let a “door knocker” let you believe that you can file an insurance claim just because you have an old or leaking roof.

Do I need to be home during roof replacement or repair?Not at all. As long as we have access to your roof and driveway, you can go about your day. We’ll keep in touch and send updates, and you can always call or text if you have questions. We treat your home like it’s our own — no surprises, no mess left behind.

Can you roof over an existing roof, or does the old one need to be removed?It’s sometimes allowed to put a second layer on, but we don’t recommend it. Tearing off the old roof allows us to check the decking underneath and ensure your new roof will have a longer, healthier life. We’ll talk you through your options and help you decide what makes the most sense.

What warranties do you offer on roofing materials and labor?We offer a 5-year labor warranty on full roof replacements and a 1-year warranty on repairs. If you choose a GAF Silver Pledge roof system, you also get a 10-year labor misapplication warranty backed by GAF, which protects the homeowner even if we were to go out of business.

How do I maintain my roof to extend its life?A few simple steps can go a long way:
- Clean your gutters regularly
- Trim back overhanging trees
- Keep an eye out for missing or damaged shingles
- Annual scheduled maintenance if you have a low-slope roof that is not visible from the ground.

What happens if it rains during the roofing project?We monitor the weather closely and schedule work accordingly. If a surprise shower pops up mid-project, our crew is trained to cover everything quickly and protect your home. We never leave a roof exposed overnight or during bad weather — period.

How noisy and disruptive is roof replacement?We won’t lie — roofing is noisy. There’s hammering, movement, and material handling involved. But we work efficiently and courteously, and most jobs are done in a day or two. If you have kids, pets, or work from home, we can talk through what to expect and help you plan accordingly.

Do you offer financing or payment plans for roofing projects?Yes, we do! We partner with Service Finance to offer flexible options, including:
- 12 months no interest
- 5-year, 10-year, or 15-year plans at very competitive interest rates. No down payment, no prepayment penalty. It's a great way to protect your home now and pay over time.

Are you licensed and insured?Yes, we’re a fully licensed and insured Class A Contractor in Virginia. We carry both liability and workers’ comp insurance, so you and your home are protected from start to finish.
